Ho, Ho, Ho Happy Holiday Charter Fishing in Key Largo!

As the end to another great year of charter fishing in Key Largo comes to an end, we can look back on some great memories.  This year our guests have enjoyed some of the best fishing in Key Largo that I can remember.  The variety of fish showing up across all the seasons has been exceptional.  The weather has contributed to that as well as the seas have been fairly calm throughout the year making for smooth rides offshore and easy to fish the reefs, too.

The wahoo bite is “en fuego” as my Cuban friends would say.  Our charter fishing guests have been landing torpedo-sized wahoo over the past few weeks.  The  Stanwyck family came fishing with us for the 10th time this year. They landed a 40 pound wahoo and 20 nice sized yellow eye snappers.  I think I know why they keep coming back to fish with us at Key Largo Fishing Adventures.  It is a phenomenal thing to feel the power and see the beautiful blue colors of a wahoo.  Captain Danny has a great recipe for smoked wahoo.  I hear that he will only share the secret recipe with those that go fishing with him.

Offshore charter fishing guests have also enjoyed a strong bite from dolphin (mahi-mahi) which are still in the area, as well as tuna and sailfish. The reef fishing in Key Largo has also been hot, producing lots of table fare and trophy sized fish.  We are seeing lots of large yellow eye snapper, black grouper and barracudas.  Fishing in the Florida Keys is a year round event with lots of variety depending on the season.

The holiday season is a busy time of the year for us, so make sure to make your reservations early. You can book a trip with us online or call me, Captain Greg, at (305) 923-9293. If you ever wonder what we are catching on a daily basis then go check out our Facebook page for lots of great pics.

Just like the Stanwycks, we have many families that have been fishing with us for over 15 years.  We enjoy knowing that we have been able to create some of the most memorable moments for these families that come aboard a Key Largo Fishing Adventure.  We are thankful to all the guests that have fished with us and look forward to seeing you in 2016.
