Happy New Year to all my angling friends! I hope this new year brings you all tight lines and lots of fun fishing in Key Largo. The weather is perfect for fishing, so get out of the snow and head down to Key Largo for some fun in the sun.
Because we have been experiencing warmer than usual weather, the fishing feels like we are in summer or spring. Our charter fishing guests are enjoying dolphin (mahi-mahi) fishing at it’s finest. Captain Danny on The Soz has been landing 30 to 40 lbs bulls offshore fishing in Key Largo. The wahoo bite has been strong over the past few weeks, too. Captain Billy on Fin Razer has been landing 40+ lbs. wahoo all winter season. We have also been live baiting for sailfish, which is always a thrill to catch. With sailfish, and all billfish for that matter, we always practice catch and release to ensure that these majestic creatures around for many generations to come.
