It’s summer and the dolphin (mahi-mahi) have shown up in full force here in Key Largo. Our charter fishing guests are bringing back dolphin by the “bucket load”, seriously. This is a great time of the year to come fishing with us at Key Largo Fishing Adventures. The offshore fishing is starting off hot this season. Lots of dolphin, lots of blackfin tuna and the occasional line-ripping wahoo. But wait, it gets better. The reef and bottom fishing has been just as fun. Grouper season just opened and we are boating some monsters. Add to that a strong bite of yellowtail snapper and it all makes for some delicious table fare.
I really enjoy telling stories of our guests enjoying the great wonders of the sea. Below are two recent stories that I won’t forget anytime soon…
Last week Willard Chamberlain and his family braved some rough seas with Captain Randy and Mate Mike to catch a nice rack of mahi-mahi and some tuna. But the real prize was a visit from a whale shark that came by to say “Hi”. Now that’s a moment they’ll never forget. We appreciate the Chamberlains for coming out fishing with us. We hope to see the entire family back soon.
Recently, Katie and Chad Ponder joined us on the Fin Razer for a day of fishing with Captain Randy and Mate Mike. What better thing to do, than go fishing on your honeymoon! Seems like their marriage is off to a good start as the newlyweds were busy all day boating dolphin, tuna and a wahoo. Chad and Katie said "There is no better way to remember our honeymoon than with a Key Largo Slam! Thanks again, we had such a wonderful time." Congratulations to you both!
Did you know that our crew will clean all of the fish you catch. No blood, no scales, no mess. Our crew will take care of that for you. So, all you have to do is cook it when you get home. What happens if you don’t want to cook it? Then take it over to our friends at the Fish House Restaurant where they will cook your catch for you. And I’ll tell you there is nothing better than fresh fish cooked by the folks at the Fish House...Yum!
